Autoturn Rail

ADVANCED LIGHT RAIL TRANSIT ANALYSIS AND DESIGN SOFTWARE

Incorporating the trusted AutoTURN™ engine, AutoTURN Rail 3D is an advanced rail design and analysis solution that expedites the clearance analysis for evaluating new track layout or verifying LRVs (light rail vehicles) on existing tracks. Beyond the analytical functionalities, AutoTURN Rail can be used for visualization purposes such as animating realistic 2D vehicle plan views and 3D realistic vehicle models along the path.

A new generation of rail design software is here

AutoTURN Rail helps designers account for clearance issues a light rail train may encounter along any section of track. Once the designs are finalized, designers can then use the software to check the safety of their concepts. What used to take hours of painstaking work now only takes a few minutes with AutoTURN Rail.

Caracteristics and functions of Autoturn Rail

See how railway engineers and consultants are using AutoTURN™ Rail 3D to design, analyze their projects efficiently which in turn reduces costs. The screen shots provide an inside look at the built-in functionality of the software for the design and planning of modern railway systems.

CUSTOM VEHICLE CREATION

EASILY CREATE LIGHT RAIL VEHICLES
Recreate a project design vehicle that reflects manufacturer specifications in AutoTURN Rail 3D. Attach manufacturer’s static and dynamic envelopes, and any user defined vehicle envelopes (e.g. for maintenance and construction tolerances) to the vehicle - the software uses these to generate clearance envelopes.

VEHICLE SIMULATIONS

GENERATE 3D LRV CLEARANCE ENVELOPES
Make adjustments to the clearance envelopes dynamically and return to previously placed vehicle clearances anytime. AutoTURN Rail allows the user to control visual properties of the clearance envelopes for quick visual recognition.
GENERATE SIMULATIONS ON PREPARED ALIGNMENTS
Enter cant/superelevation data via a .CSV file and AutoTURN Rail 3D makes key calculations for the user. Start with an AutoCAD polyline composed of arcs and lines to set a starting elevation based on horizontal alignment geometry.
3D LIGHT RAIL VEHICLE SIMULATIONS
Simulate design vehicle movement on user prepared alignment (horizontal, profile, and cant) in 2D and in 3D that is sensitive to changes in elevation as well as cant/superelevation.
